Knitting is no longer just for old ladies. The craft has become fashionable and appreciated by all ages and genders. Leggy Creations was created with a specific set of knitters in mind; the sock knitter. The sock blockers were originally created so that I would have sock blockers myself, then I decided to take it one step further and decorate them. One thing led to another and I began sharing and trading them with other knitters. That’s how “Leggy Creations” was born.

Why should you buy Leggy Creation blockers?

Well its like the difference between buying plain white wrapping paper or really pretty snazzy wrapping paper. Either will work perfectly well but one is a lot nicer to look at and when not in use you can hang them on the wall as art. LC blockers have personality! Pick a pair with a theme that suits your style! You don’t even have to be a knitter. Use these as eclectic art and hang them as decorations in your home.

You can buy wooden or plastic blockers elsewhere but why not buy a pair of decorated ones? There’s not that much difference in the price. So go ahead and pick yourself out a fun pair! I also do make “plain” blockers on occasion. But usually they are made of Cherry or some other fine wood that would be a crime to paint over!

Shopping at Leggy Creations

Sizes

The majority of the blockers are in the Medium size, which is 9.5 inches heel to toe and either 12 or 14 inches tall. I do make small and large blockers as well. Watch the wording of the listings and you’ll see what sizes are available in the store. Also I occasionally offer the ability to order Customized blockers. Just keep a watch on the Etsy store for the link to be active.

Take a look through the gallery and you can see examples of some of the blockers I have created so far. They are made with a cabinet grade plywoods from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thickness and are decorated and or coated with polyurethane. All Leggy Creations are signed originals.

This is a small venture. There’s no assembly line, or factory. Just myself and a work table full of wood, paints, paper and such. I create the blockers much like an artist paints, one at a time. I work when the inspiration hits me. I post them here whenever I make any pairs. Sometimes there will be blockers available, sometimes not.

Prices & Payments

The price for the blockers ranges from $20 to $40 a pair plus shipping. Average price is $30+shipping. Shipping in the US is $6 for the first pair, and $2 more per additional pair. Shipping for Canada is $8 for the first pair and $2 for each additional pair shipped at the same time. Shipping outside of the US or Canada is available but the price will need to be discussed As long as you pay for the shipping I’m willing to ship them worldwide. I prefer to be paid through Paypal or by personal check (blockers held till check is cashed/cleared)

Discounts are available on multiple purchases and to repeat customers. So remind me if I need to refund to you a discount amount when you make your purchase.

Custom Request Blockers

These were very popular when I first started making blockers, however, I don’t do these very often because I’ve found that I have a harder time channeling my creative energy into a pre-determined theme. I feel that I do a much better job when I move with whatever sparks my creative energy when I have time to work on blockers. But if you have your heart set on a custom request pair email me and lets discuss your ideas for your perfect pair of blockers. The cost for these will be between $30 and $40. Depending on the materials needed, if I have to purchase something special, etc.

If you are wanting a repeat of one of the pairs you see in my gallery please let me know. Sometimes I can recreate the themes and sometimes I can’t. Depending again, on the materials I used for that pair.

An alternative to ordering custom blockers might be to drop me an email and offer suggestions for things you might like on future pairs of blockers. Then wait and see what shows up on the site! No matter what you can always email me! I love mail from my customers and visitors.
